Conus parvus   (Lea, 1840 - De Gregorio, 1890)

Conus (Conospirus) parvus (Lea) De Greg. (1)

PI. 1, f. 64-65, le même exempl. gross. de deux côtés Pl. 9, f. 31 * reprod. de Lea.

1840. Conus parvus LEA, Lea H. New Foss. Shells Claiborne p. 103, pl. 1, Î. 24;

1848. Conus parvus LEA, Lea H.Cat. Tert. Test.

Testa minuta, angusta, crassiuscula, anfractibus postice crenulatis; ultimo conico angusto, antice striato; apertura angusta quasi dupla quam spira.

C’est une petite espèce très intéressante par l’ analogie intime qu’ elle a avec le C. parisiensis Desh. et le protractus eyer. Probablement elle est identique de ces espèces et son nom a le droit de la priorité. J'ai uni mon nom à celui de Lea, car la figure de Lea laisse quelque doute pour l'identification.— (Coll. mon Cabinet).

It is a very interesting small species due to the intimate analogy it has with C. parisiensis Desh. and the protractus Meyer. Probably it is identical to these species and its name has the right of priority. I joined my name to that of Lea, because the face of Lea leaves some doubt for the identification.
